What are the legalities? It’s not difficult but there are some basic things that the Law requires. I’ve listed the details here but don’t stress! I will explain all this to you when we speak.
The first step is the filling out of the NOTICE OF INTENDED MARRIAGE FORM. (REFERRED TO AS THE ‘NOIM’). This form is required by law to be to be signed, witnessed and lodged with me one month and one day before the intended date of the ceremony. The applicable original supporting documents, as listed below will be needed to complete this notice.
When we meet, I will provide this form and we will fill it out together, or you can download the form at www.ceremoniesbyjulzz.com.au click on “Contact” and you will see the download in PDF format, and you can have the form partly or already completed. PLEASE REMEMBER TO FILL THE NOIM IN USING CAPITAL LETTERS. I will witness your signatures and verify your documentation prior to the lodgment of your NOIM. Completing all the legal requirements at our first meeting will allow you and your partner more time to enjoy the lead up to your special day.
If we cannot meet, before the notice date, the NOIM can be downloaded from my website www.ceremoniesbyjulzz.com.au click on “Contact” “Contact” you will find the NOIM download in PDF format, or www.ag.gov.au/celebrants signed and witnessed by a prescribed person as listed on the form and posted or faxed to me, together with photo copies of the required documents. PLEASE REMEMBER TO FILLTHE NOIM IN USING CAPITAL LETTERS . I will still need the original NOIM and to sight all original documents before the ceremony can commence, this can be done when we sign the Declaration form on a date decided before the ceremony, or at the rehearsal if required.
Looks complicated?? No, not really, I can help you complete the forms or do it for you quickly and simply on my computer if we meet at the office, and we can then concentrate on those special words that will make the ceremony on your wedding day uniquely yours.
